A Savior is Born

Happy Christmas Eve, Everyone! Praying you are having a wonderful and blessed Christmas Eve.
I have the gift this year of preaching on Christmas Day to help out a wonderful sister friend. But truth be told, my favorite worship at Christmas is the latest possible service on Christmas Eve.
When I was growing up, even, I wished that I was Catholic so I could go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. For me, that is the most holy time of the Season. It is the time I imagine Mary giving birth to her firstborn, the Son of God.
It is the time I imagine the angels appearing to those lowly, fear-filled shepherds announcing the birth of the Savior who is Christ the Lord. It is the time when I imagine Mary pondering in her heart the worship of the shepherds as they arrived and spoke about the angel proclamation.
Even in the dead of summer, when I think of Christmas, I think of that Holy Night when the Savior of the world was born. And I am joyful at the thought of God coming down in human form to save me, a sinner.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus with presents and family and friends and lights and all the decorations, I pray one thing. That we would remember the lowly birth of God incarnate, that we would listen to the proclamation of the angels, and that we would run to worship Him just as the shepherds did. For unto us is born this day in the City of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Blessings and Love on Christmas and always, 😊 Ceri
