From With and For God

Happy Wednesday, Everyone. 😊 In our culture, it is easy for us to believe that every good idea we have, every accomplishment we experience, and every accolade we receive are because of who we are. But this passage tells us just the opposite.

All those wonderful ideas for serving Him in His Kingdom – straight from Him. All the words we write and speak in furtherance of His Kingdom – straight from Him. And not only does He give us the ideas and thoughts, He also gives us the energy and capacity to follow through, be obedient, and accomplish those things for Him and His Kingdom.

When you really think about it, our part is really easy. God gives us the ideas, the energy, and the ability and we can have peace of mind and heart knowing that what we are doing and being will be pleasing to Him. I can’t think of anything easier. But it’s not that easy, is it?

We have a tendency to rethink everything. We question if that idea or those words really came from God. My experience is that we know soon enough if they are not from Him. He will put up obstacles and roadblocks that nothing and no one can get through.

While not always easy, I have found that the best way for me to function in the Kingdom is to listen to God, allow Him to infuse me with His Holy Spirit and energy, and be obedient to His call. Working with Him on what is from Him ends up with pleasing results for Him.

How have you experienced this in your life? How often have you second-guessed yourself and wondered if God really said that? How do you move past the doubt to be and do all that He is calling, equipping, and energizing you to be and do?

One last thought – I think we need to be more like the rest of creation. They don’t question; they are just obedient to whatever God tells them to do. I wonder what the world would look like if we just did that.
