God Says ... I Am With You

Happy Wednesday, Everyone. đI love sitting by a quickly moving river or stream. I love the sound of the ocean waves hitting the shore. I love being out in the water with or without a fishing pole. But I donât like being in the water so much â at least not over my head.
Â
When I was about three years old, I almost drowned. I was apparently going down for the third time when my Dad pulled me out. But still, more than a few years later, I still feel like I am suffocating when my face is underwater. So this passage speaks to me in a very personal way.
Â
But there are also the deep storms of life and raging rivers of circumstances that we have to navigate during our lives. And, as if on cue, I have been having one of those weeks as I prepare posts for this week. My laptop decided it would be a great time to stop working â at least working efficiently. All I do is on my computer â posts, emails, creating in Canva â you know â everything that you see is produced on my computer. I missed participating in zoom meetings that are important to me â personally and professionally. I wasnât able to work on posts until late Thursday and Friday. But ⌠God was with me and allowed me to get everything done in plenty of time.
Â
When things happen in our lives that feel overwhelming, we can feel like we are drowning or in the middle of the storm on a deep sea or riding in a raft on a raging river. But God is our Eternal Life Preserver. He carries us through all the storms of life and brings us safely to the other side. When that happens, we have all the more proof that we can trust Him always.
Â
The story from Jesusâ life that comes to mind is the time He was sleeping as the storm was tossing the ship around. The disciples were petrified. They didnât understand how Jesus could sleep through that huge storm. And yet, when He woke up, all it took was one word from Him and the storm stilled.
Â
Itâs like that for us in our lives, too. If we depend on God and ask for Him to help us, it just takes one word from Him to still the storms in our hearts and souls.Â
Â
I pray that we would all depend more on God when the going gets tough and less on ourselves. God promises to be with us and to guide us safely through the storms and raging rivers of our lives.
Â
Blessings and Love, đ Ceri
