God's Timing and Not Ours

Happy Wednesday, Everyone. šĀ How many times have you said or heard, āItās all about Godās timing.ā āGodās timing is perfect.ā There have been times when I have heard that and wanted to punch the person who said it. And Iām sure others have wanted to punch me when I have said it.Ā
Ā
But our passage for this week has God saying it. He tells us that at the right time, Heāll make it happen. We all acknowledge that God is in control, that His Will is best, and that He always acts in love and justice and mercy.
Ā
Thatās just a little hard to accept sometimes. We get impatient when things donāt happen quickly enough. We wonder āwhyā did this happen to me or a family member? We ask if this is really Godās Will when it doesnāt line up with our will.
Ā
I have lived a good many years. And I have been impatient with God, wondered about His Will and His timing more times than I can count.
Ā
But ⦠it has also been my experience that God always works at the right time. As I look back over my life, I see that Godās timing has always been perfect. When I have been waiting anxiously for something I wanted to happen, He has always delivered something better. Times when I have been impatient because I was late leaving the house, it meant that I avoided an accident that could have resulted in serious injury. And when I wonder about the āwhy,ā I remember that all things work together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28) and that Godās glory is done through every event in our lives. We do have to look for it sometimes, but it is always there.
Ā
Yes ⦠Godās timing and His Will are perfect. Sometimes it takes hindsight to see it, but always it is true.
Ā
I am adding this Scripture to my Scripture door on my office closet. I need to remember always that, as God says, āI am God. At the right time Iāll make it happen.ā: (Isaiah 60:22 MSG)
Ā
I pray we can all live into this verse and know that Godās Will is always for us and that He will make it happen not only in His Will but to our benefit ā when the time is right.
Ā
Blessings and Love, šĀ Ceri
