Where Our Help Comes From

Happy Wednesday, Everyone. 😊 This week’s passage is one that is familiar to many of us. I do like The Passion Translation’s wording. It really brings home the fact that it is not the mountains and hills that bring us help. It is God, who created those very same mountains and hills.

I don’t know about you, but I sometimes forget to go to God first. When I have an issue with my puppers, my first call is to our daughter. When I am not sure about how to proceed with a project or task, my first stop is Greg – and then other family and friends who may have some expertise in that particular area.

Or I find myself asking Google for the answer to my question or concern. Do you do that, too?

Why do we do that? Why do we seek answers and guidance from humans or AI? This passage is very clear that God is the one that helps us. Yes, it could be argued that God acts through family, friends, and even Google. But why not go right to the source?

In my lifetime, God has never left me hanging when I needed His help and guidance. He may have made me wait for a bit for an answer, but He has ALWAYS helped me when I needed it. I don’t need mountains and hills, I need the One who created them. God is my Father – and yours – and provides the best advice because He knows us better than we even know ourselves.

So, here’s a challenge. 😊 The next time we are faced with a question, concern, or decision, let’s go to God first. Then we can follow up with our other options, but God invites us to go to Him right away. Yes, we can look to the mountains and hills and others for help, but we are best served by going directly to the Creator of not only those mountains and hills, but of each of us, too. I wonder what a difference that would make in each of our lives and how much anxiety and fear it would remove if only we would trust God above all else.
